Cons to Kissing Your Horse

And now, the number one reason not to be all up in your horse's grill....

Horses graze in pastures with...

Poison Ivy!

Thanks Sug! "That's so number one!"

When Kid Sisters Attack

It all began this morning as I was sitting at the kitchen table and the oldest three kids were playing in the basement. Younger Brother came running up the stairs marginally upset claiming that Big Sis (well little sis to him) had bitten him...for no reason!
If she was hoping to claim innocence, she didn't cover her tracks very well.
Biggest Brother still holds to his story that Younger Brother tackled Big Sis. In which case, he kinda had it coming...but still.

In order to avoid total negligence, I did need to at least address Sis on the issue.

"Sis....no no! We don't bite. Go sit down young lady."

Sis does not take kindly to being scolded. Brother immediately stepped in to console her.

"It's okay Sweetie. It's okay Sweetie."

Perhaps a bribe to dry the tears...
"Want to watch a video?"

Yes, a video just might do the trick. Good idea Brother!

After all, she really is sorry!

And he really is just about the best big brother a girl could ask for!

Milestones

It was a day of milestones here on the homefront. J and I celebrated our
5th wedding anniversary today...August 9th! Here's us on this
day 5 years ago! Sorry the pics are so small. My computer wasn't too happy
about the size of the files.

Mom M took on the task of watching all four of the kids so we could go out!
Thanks Mom M! We saw a movie and had some P.F. Changs...sooo good!!!
The P.F. Changs that is, the movie not so much, but who cares. A date's a date!

I call this one our cologne ad pic!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY HONEY...I LOVE YOU!!!

And not to be outdone, Littlest Sis came through with a milestone of her own...her first tooth!
She was reaching for her blankie and got my finger by mistake. She immediately pulled it into her mouth and bit down. Only this time it wasn't all gums, but 99 percent gums and one little pointy pearly white poking through on the bottom! It must feel funny to her because this is the face she made all day today. :)

"...fearfully and wonderfully made!"

Behold, Littlest Sis! She is 4 months old and still exclusively nursing, so I have the privelage of spending a good portion of every day just staring at her. Granted, I'm her mom so it's my job to think that she's magnificent.
But I wanted to share some pics that highlight a few of the things that make me stop and ponder the wonder of her creation! And that of all our children for that matter. It's awesome to think of God carefully knitting together all of her precious details before I was ever able to see them...

For starters, she has a great mouth!

And looong blonde eyelashes! She is the only one of my children who has had her eyelashes from birth.

I love the way she sucks her two middle fingers on her left hand and rubs her fuzzy pink blankie on her right cheek and is instantly comforted and sleepy.

She and her Big Sis share this beautiful and unusual characteristic. Her left pupil is 1.5mm larger than her right, just like Sis.

And I love the way she looks at me! She is truly a work of art.

Brotherly Love

Too help reduce the dish load (which was ridiculous), we have switched to plastic cups that can be labeled and used throughout the day. It was way too boring to use our actual names...so every morning begins with the selection of the day's alter egos. Today, Younger Brother is Batman and Biggest Brother has chosen to be Creek Spider. Creek Spider?

Creek Spider is a fictional fellow that lives in Biggest Brother's imagination. And he was happy to tell us all about him!

For starters, a Creek Spider is waaaay taller than Batman!

I'm pretty sure a Creek Spider can scale walls too, but to be honest, I was a little distracted by Younger Brother off to the right. He was clearly impressed by his brother's extensive knowledge!

Biggest Brother was not the least bit distracted, and continued to go on and on about the mind boggling wonders of a Creek Spider.

Meanwhile, off to the right...

After all, who cares about Creek Spiders or Batman when you could be taking pictures of a Lego pirate head?!!

Short but Super Sweet

Thanks Aunt B for the cool new duds! :)
Check me out!...

p.s. Mommy is starting to feel better and should be posting again as usual tomorrow.

Technical Difficulties...

The author of this blog is experiencing technical difficulties due to a nasty bout of Mastitis...
Please stay tuned later tonight (hopefully) when we will return to regularly scheduled programming already in progress.
