Meet Libs

There is another member of our family that seldom gets the recognition she deserves. She is Liberty, our 5yr old Beagle/Boxer mix. We adopted Libs right around Younger Brother's first birthday. Daddy convinced me to consider getting a dog after we caught our, then 11 month old son climbing up into the window and removing the screen to try to get outside to see the neighbor dog. He just loved dogs! And yes - he has always been very, shall we say, "able!"
.
It just so happened that at the same time a friend of mine was trying to find a foster home for a dog that had been abandoned at her clinic. Apparently, Libby's owners had dropped her and another dog off for boarding....and never came back! She had been sitting in a cage for 9 months at that point. Her next destination was the humane society (bad news for a pup) and my friend was wanting to buy her a little more time. We fostered her for three days before making her a permanent addition to our home. Amazingly enough, she came to us already potty trained, knowing a few commands (sit/fetch), impossibly patient, and without any behavioral issues! In fact, when Big Sis was learning how to climb, she use to use poor Libs as a portable step stool. She has been the perfect dog for our family. And as you can see, the kids adore her.
And there you have it...a proper introduction to Liberty!
And now, a post of her own...

Libby is a sweet loving CALM dog. She's great!! It feels good to rescue a dog. Logan was so sad in his cage at the animal shelter. We fell in love with him immediately :)
