Friday Night Candlelight

Daddy took the kids grocery shopping with him...and while they were there, he let them each pick out a special new cup for summer.

These fine, colorful, plastic goblets is what they chose.
They kept asking anxiously all day if they had been washed yet, and I assured them that they would be ready to use at dinner time.

So when dinnertime rolled around, naturally (to compliment the new dinnerware of course) a candlelight celebration was in order!

I would like to say that Little Sis was offering a toast here.
But really, she just has a bad habit of repeatedly standing up in her chair at the table.
Er, um, I mean, my kids never do that! She was totally offering a toast! :D

It was pure elegance on the other side of the table too...
Big Sis with spaghetti sauce clear up to her forehead, and Biggest Brother chugging the apple juice out of his goblet.
.
But hey, the candle remained on the table for the entire meal and nobody set anything on fire.
I call it a success!
